Conditions of Entry
Entry is free.
All entries
must be the entrants own unaided work.
Entries that
have won a prize (1st, 2nd 3rd or Highly Commended) at a previous Burke
Shire Arts & Craft Show will not be eligible for entry.
Entrants must
submit an entry form to Cheryl Portch, Burke Shire Office in Burketown
prior to 4:00pm on Friday 22 August 2008 to be eligible for judging. Entry
forms can be posted, faxed or submitted by hand. Contact details are on
front page of this programme. Extra entry forms can be obtained from Burke
Shire Office in Burketown, from website www.burkeshirecouncil.com
or photocopied from this programme.
Non perishable
physical entries will be accepted from 4 August 2008 at the Burke Shire
Office in Burketown as well as at the Burke Shire Hall on Wednesday 27
August from 9:00am - 3:00pm & Friday 29 August from 1:00pm - 6:00pm.
Perishable entries (cooking & horticulture), and as noted under
the relevant categories, are to be presented to appropriate Steward between
7:00am and 8:30am on the morning of the Show.
ABSOLUTELY
NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED!
All physical
entries to be tagged securely with entrants name, category and sub-category
number. Each Exhibitor will be issued a number which is to replace their
name on the exhibits for judging purposes.
Stewards have
the right to reclassify entries where determined appropriate.
Stewards have
the right to choose entries for display purposes.
In categories
where there are insufficient entries, a prize may not necessarily be given.
Exhibitors
are responsible for collecting their exhibits at the appropriate times.
Exhibitors must be issued their collection from the appropriate Steward
and are not to remove exhibits themselves. The Committee will not take
responsibility for any exhibits not collected. Uncollected exhibits
will be kept for a period of seven days from the date of the Show, following
which they will be disposed of at the discretion of the Committee.
Any donation
of entries for auction would be greatly appreciated (the auction proceeds
are to be donated to the RFDS & any other community organisation committee
decides upon).
Exhibitors
may price their entries for sale but the sale of any items is the sole
responsibility of the exhibitor.
Whilst all
care is taken, competitors should make their own arrangements for the insurance
of their exhibits.
In addition

category listings as some categories have special conditions pertaining
only to their category entries.

Size requirements
for display are:- minimum 13cm x 18cm to a maximum 20cm x 30cm. Digital
photos are not to be computer enhanced. Portrait includes single or multiple
human or animal forms. Landscape incorporates scenes including water, land,
buildings, plants and any other non human or animal subject. Photos may
be pinned for display. If you do not want pin marks in your photos please
indicate so on your entry form - such photos will then be placed in plastic
display pockets. Sub Categories are limited to 2 entries per person.

Year 4 to Year 6 are to be completed on loose lined A4 paper or smaller.
All writing entries > Year 6 are to be completed either on loose lined
A4 paper or by word processor on A4 paper. Any entries that consist of
more than one page to be submitted in a display pocket. It is encouraged
that all writing, if appropriate, to be mounted on cardboard for presentation.
Titles should be displayed on entry. Name & Year level to be put in
small writing on back of exhibits.
